The Privacy Act provides Canadian citizens with the right to access personal information held by the government and protection of that information against unauthorized use and disclosure.  In addition, the Access to Information Act gives Canadian citizens the right to access information in federal government records.

In many instances government departments require additional assistance as it pertains to access to information and privacy (ATIP) matters.  Cistel’s team of experienced ATIP resources are able to assist departments on an as and when requested basis in analyzing documents for disclosure in accordance with the ATIP legislation, Treasury Board policies and guidelines and jurisprudence, as well as with other associated ATIP duties.
