The Management Accountability Framework (MAF) now evaluates whether organizations subject to the Access to Information and Privacy Acts have met their legal obligations in publishing an index that identifies the corporate and personal information that they create or collect. The obligation of publishing this index (called Info Source) is led by TBS but each organization must submit their chapters annually.
Departments are being asked to re-write their chapters in easy to understand language and in a format that reflects the department’s Program Activity Architecture. In addition, departments are evaluated on whether or not the index reflects all of the personal information collected and held by the institution.
Cistel’s privacy team has assisted departments by taking on the task of creating an inventory of personal information collections and drafting the submissions to TBS for the corresponding personal information banks registrations. In addition, Cistel can write up your Classes of Records to communicate the structure of the Program Activity Architecture in a way that will be simple and easy for the Canadian public to read.
